Film and visual media music workshop

This course connects you live (via Skype) to Los Angeles, the mythical city of cinematographic production and iconic musics that enhance the image. It is an introduction to the varied world of soundtrack composition for films, animated movies and video games and covers the creative, technological and dramaturgical aspects of each of these medias. The course analyses the evolution of this subject since its starts to nowadays, allowing students to evaluate their practical works in a historical context in constant evolution. This course requires basic computer music knowledge and an intermediate harmony and composition level.

COMPUTER MUSIC DISCOVERY

Students will learn to create their own custom song using GarageBand, Reason or Cubase, by using pre-recorded instrumental tracks (loops or samples). They will also be able to record their own voice or instrument to complete their creation. At the end of the course, students will leave with their song burnt on a CD. This course is particularly adapted to younger students and doesn’t require any prior knowledge.
